Junior Achievement Special Events Campaign for Kids - June 08
As Americans we all have the responsibility to protect and preserve our free enterprise system in order to compete in the global economy of the 21st Century. The long-term guarantee that the United States economy will remain the strongest in the world rests in the education of our children.
One way you can help our Berks and Lehigh young people understand and appreciate the tremendous value of our economy and the global marketplace is through Junior Achievement. With your support and investment in JA, you can provide our young people with the knowledge and skills needed.

Associate Sponsors: JA Business Hall of Fame It was a dynamic evening at this year's Business Hall or Fame Dinner as Chuck Domino was inducted into the prestigious Business Hall of Fame on march 12 during a special ceremony at the Sheraton Hotel Reading. More than 300 business professionals and their friends and families attended. The Business Hall of Fame award
recognizes the achievement of individuals who have shown, by example, the
importance of maintaining the free enterprise system and the opportunities that
are available to young people through business. Domino, a 26-year veteran of baseball business, is president of the Double-A Reading Phillies and the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs. As general manager of the R-Phils from 1988-2006, Domino led the franchise to numerous awards and attendance records, and was named Eastern League Executive of Year five times. Chuck became president of Baseballtown Charities, the R-Phils' non-profit entity, in 2002. The charity has raised almost $1 million for children who otherwise would not have a chance to play baseball, learn valuable life skills or lead a healthy lifestyle. The featured guest speaker of the evening was Brendon Burchard, author of Life's Golden Ticket (HarperOne, May 2007) and a highly-acclaimed life coach, leadership speaker and business consultant. Brendon was blessed to receive life's golden ticket - a second chance - ten years ago after surviving a dramatic car accident in a third-world country. Since then, he has dedicated his life to helping individuals, teams and organizations create and master change. Brendon lived his message of making a difference by helping to create the largest nonprofit partnership in history serving the children of the world. The partnership between Junior Achievement and Kiwanis International has the potential to teach 8 million youth worldwide about service, business and leadership. Other Award Recipients:
